Cyclist stopped in Prince George, B.C., and found to have a firearm: RCMP

Mounties say a man riding a bicycle was arrested in Prince George, B.C., last month after officers stopped him and found a gun in his possession.

Police said the incident happened on June 24, when an officer saw the man riding his bicycle without a helmet.

“During the course of the ensuing traffic stop and investigation, the police located a firearm. The police seized the firearm and arrested the man, who was identified by police as 39-year-old Kyle Teegee,” Prince George RCMP said, in a statement.

Mounties say he has been charged after allegedly being found in possession of the firearm, adding he will remain in custody pending a court appearance.

“We remain focused on addressing unlawful weapons possession,” Cpl. Jennifer Cooper added.

In an email to CTV News, RCMP confirmed Teegee was previously arrested in April 2019 in connection with what police called a targeted shooting in Prince George.

Police say they won’t comment any further on the matter.
