Alberta man charged 1 year after crash that killed B.C. woman

The B.C. Highway Patrol says an Alberta man has been charged with dangerous driving one year after a crash that killed a B.C. woman.

In a news release Wednesday, the BCHP said officers were called to the scene just east of Cranbrook on Highway 3/93 near Pritchard Road at approximately 7 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2025.

The victim—a 62-year-old woman from the small town of Wardner—was driving a grey Pontiac hatchback when she collided with a white Dodge pickup truck.

On Feb. 11 of this year, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved a single charge against 50-year-old Dany Dube.

Dube has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

He is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on April 13.
