$1M Lotto Max prize a ‘nice mid-life gift,’ says B.C. winner

One of B.C.’s latest lottery millionaires says his sudden windfall is a “nice mid-life gift” that will help him retire, buy property and splash out on a European vacation.

Vancouver resident Adam Snider took home one of the three $1 million Maxmillions prizes in the the Dec. 9 Lotto Max draw after purchasing a ticket on the B.C. Lottery Corporation’s PlayNow website.

Snider told the BCLC he learned about his luck the day after the draw, and rushed to tell his wife the good news.

“She was in shock at first but then was fired up,” said Snider, in a BCLC news release.

The win helps provide a “clear path to retirement,” he added, and will allow him to “splurge” on a previously-planned trip to Europe for a wedding next year.

“This win makes things easier,” Snider said.

The odds of winning a Maxmillions prize or a main Lotto Max jackpot—both of which require matching all seven numbers in a draw without using a bonus number—are approximately one in 33 million, according to the BCLC.
