A motorcyclist is facing stunt driving charges after allegedly travelling at more than double the speed limit on one of the main roads in the south end of Barrie. According to Barrie police, the 30-year-old man was clocked at 169 kilometres per hour on Mapleview Drive East near Huronia Road Sunday morning, a posted 60 zone. He was charged with stunt driving and unnecessary noise. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. “Excessive speeds put yourself and others at serious risk,” said Barrie police in a social media post. “Please slow down.” Drivers accused of stunt driving in Ontario could face penalties that include a 30-day licence suspension, a 14-day vehicle impoundment, fines ranging between $2,000 and $10,000 and possible jail time.
