Motorcyclist dead after crash in Toronto’s east end

Toronto police provide an update on the fatal two-vehicle collision that happened in the area of Birchmount Rd. and McNicoll Ave.

A 29-year-old motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Scarborough Monday morning.

Toronto police say officers were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the area of Birchmount Road and McNicoll Avenue.

The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the other vehicle involved remained at the scene. It’s unclear what caused the crash.

Birchmount Road remains closed and investigators are urging motorists to avoid the area.
