Regina police make arrest in city’s 2nd homicide of 2026

Regina police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection to the city’s second homicide of the year.

At around 1:15 a.m. on April 13, officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of 5th Avenue for the report of an injured person.

The man, 36-year-old Myles Anderson of Regina, was already in critical condition when police arrived. Officers attempted life-saving measures as they waited for paramedics to arrive. Anderson was declared dead at the scene shortly after.

On Friday, April 24, a search warrant was executed at a home on the 1600 block of Toronto Street. A suspect was found inside the home and arrested.

According to Regina police, Blayne Okemaysim has been charged with second-degree murder.

Okemaysim made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court Monday morning.
