City’s 3 civic golf courses slated to open over coming week

Tee-rific news: Edmonton’s civic golf courses are slated to open over the coming week.

The city said in a Monday morning media release that its three public courses will open over the next seven days.

First up is the east-end Rundle Golf Course, which opens Tuesday at noon.

Next will be the central Victoria Golf Course, which will welcome linksmen starting at noon. Its driving range is already open.

Opening next Monday, May 4, at noon is the more challenging, east-central Riverside Golf Course.

Regular operating hours for all three courses this season will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Several privately operated courses in the Edmonton region have already opened for the season, although the recent snow has led some to temporarily close until the white stuff melts and greens dry out.

Those that have already started accepting tee times include Mill Woods, Cattail Crossing, Lewis Estates, Raven Crest, River Ridge, The Ranch, St. Albert’s Sandpiper, Nisku’s RedTail Landing next to the international airport, Millet’s Triple Creek, and Wetaskiwin’s Montgomery Glen.

Edmonton Springs, on the west edge of the city, is slated to open on Tuesday, as is Sherwood Park’s Country Side. Ryley’s Coal Creek is accepting tee-time bookings for May 1.
