Toronto forecast: Up to 10 cm of snow to fall this weekend

Environment Canada forecasts another 10 cm will fall in the Toronto area, just days after the city was slammed by a heavy snowstorm.

The snow was expected to begin Saturday, according to the national weather agency. Between 5 and 10 cm of snow can be expected to fall on Saturday, and a similar amount is predicted for Sunday.

Flurries will continue through to Monday afternoon, with approximately 15 cm falling over the three-day period.

The temperature is expected to hover around -7 C all weekend, with daytime highs of -2 and lows of -11.

Earlier this week, more than 20 cm of snow fell in the Toronto area between Sunday night and Monday afternoon. It took city crews approximately 16 hours to clear the snow from city streets and sidewalks.

The city estimated that the cost of the snowstorm was between $3 million and $5 million, CTV Toronto's Colin D'Mello reported Monday.
