A hot summer with above-seasonal temperatures is expected for Ottawa and eastern Ontario, according to Environment Canada. The weather agency released its three-month temperature and precipitation outlook on Monday, looking at the summer forecast for June, July and August. Environment Canada is calling for above-seasonal temperatures for Ottawa over the next three months, with normal precipitation levels. Last summer, Ottawa experienced below seasonal rainfall through June, July and August. “On-again, off-again summer” The Weather Network’s summer forecast says Ottawa and Ontario will see periods of both warmer and cooler than normal air through the summer, but average temperatures will be below normal this summer. “Heat will build at times, but interruptions are expected throughout the season,” the Weather Network said on its website. “Final temperatures may finish surprisingly close to the seasonal mark overall. More days with showers and thunderstorms are expected, though that does not mean a washout, but it does mean more frequent interruptions.” The Weather Network calls the summer personality in Ottawa “noncommittal and inconsistent,” describing the upcoming summer as “the on-again, off-again summer.” According to the Weather Network, the average daytime high in Ottawa is 27.7 C in July.
