Man dead after being struck by vehicle in Toronto’s west end

A man is dead following an overnight pedestrian collision in Toronto’s west end early Sunday morning.

Toronto police say officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Old Park Road and Eglinton Avenue West at approximately 1:19 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived, they located a male victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.

Investigators remained in the area overnight and motorists were advised to expect delays and use alternate routes.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
