Two homes destroyed, several damaged in Warman fire

Two homes were destroyed and several others damaged in a fast-moving fire in Warman on Friday evening.

Warman Fire Rescue says crews were called to a structure fire on Redwood Crescent shortly after 6 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, two homes were already fully engulfed, with high winds pushing flames as high as 50 feet and causing the fire to spread quickly.

The fire also spread to two additional homes as well, burning material on four other roofs and caused melting on the siding of two detached garages in a back alley.

Warman Fire Rescue says 17 firefighters responded with seven apparatus and three water streams to fight the blaze. Crews from Osler Dalmeny and Martensville also assisted.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the two homes that were destroyed, preventing it from spreading further.

Warman Fire Rescue says the fire is not considered suspicious and “all people got out safely and all firefighters were uninjured but exhausted.”
