‘It is really going to jam things up’: Truck rollover, oil spill closes ramps from Hwy. 427 to EB Hwy. 409

A truck rollover and oil spill has led to the closure of Highway 427 ramps to eastbound Highway 409.

A transport truck rollover and oil spill has led to the closure of both the southbound and northbound ramps of Highway 427 to eastbound Highway 409.

The driver involved in the collision, which occurred shortly after 11 p.m., suffered only minor injuries, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said.

Crews are still in the process of cleaning up the spill.

Drivers are being urged to find alternate routes this morning as the closure is expected to be “lengthy,” the OPP said in a post on social media.

“Your best bet right now (is to) take Dixon as well as the 401,” Traffic Specialist Meital Sperling said on Wednesday morning.

“It is really going to jam things up as the morning progresses.”
