Canada Day celebrations at LeBreton Flats Park, Old Hull, Parliament Hill and in front of the Supreme court of Canada are currently suspended due to severe weather. OC Transpo OC Transpo is celebrating Canada Day with free transit. Riders will be able to board the O-Train and buses all day for free. OC Transpo buses and the O-Train Lines will be running on a special schedule with extra service on busy routes. O-Train Line 1 will run from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. For schedule information, visit www.octranspo.ca. Canada Day Noon Show The Canada Day Noon Show will be held at LeBreton Flats. Artists scheduled to perform are Alessia Cara, Loud, TOBi, Adrian Sutherland, Naomi, Éléonore Lagacé, Alicia Blore, Alexandre (Douzie) Tétrault, Deantha Edmunds and Julianna Labelle. Special guests scheduled to appear include Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, who was onboard the Artemis II mission, Rick Hansen, Olympic and Paralympic athletes and recipients of the Order of Canada. The show runs from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Canada Day Evening Show Note: The Canada Day Evening Show has been cancelled due to the weather. The Canada Day Evening Show runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at LeBreton Flats. “Live from the capital, with performances from Moncton and Winnipeg, artists will join their voices and their energy to celebrate what brings us together: our love for our country and the pride of calling it home,” Canadian Heritage said. The lineup in Ottawa features: The evening show will be broadcast on giant screens on Parliament Hill and in front of the Supreme Court of Canada. Canada Day Fireworks Note: The Canada Day fireworks have been cancelled at LeBreton Flats due to the weather. Canada Day wraps up with the Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks. Canadian Heritage says the fireworks will be set off near LeBreton Flats Park at 10 p.m. on Wednesday. “For an exceptional view, head to the park or nearby streets, which will be closed to traffic that day,” Canadian Heritage said. Parliament Hill Canada Day festivities will be held on Parliament Hill. ByWard Market Celebrate Canada in the ByWard Market. The ByWard Market District Authority will be hosting free programming, including a Kids Zone between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. with watercolour painting, wooden badge making, inflatable carnival games, lawn games and more. There will be live programming on stage between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., and a free concert on York Street between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. The Vendor Market and Vendor Village will be open starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. National Arts Centre The NAC Orchestra celebrates Canada Day with a concert at the National Arts Centre. Canada Day Barrhaven Organizers say the Canada Day in Barrhaven site has been shut down for the evening. The fireworks will be rescheduled for another date. The Mattamy Homes Canada Day in Barrhaven celebration will be at Clarke Fields Park on July 1. Events include the Velocity Games, Kids Zone Activity Area, food vendors and more. The main stage will feature Monkey Rock Music at 4:30 p.m., Nayana at 6 p.m. and Eddy and the Stingrays at 8 p.m. Canada Day festivities wrap up with fireworks at 10 p.m. Canada Day in Kanata Note: The Canada Day in Kanata events Wednesday evening, including the fireworks, have been postponed due to the weather. Canada Day in Stittsville Note: The Canada Day fireworks in Stittsville have been cancelled due to the weather. There are several events in Stittsville on Canada Day. The Canada Day in Stittsville celebration is presented by the Stittsville Village Association, featuring music, band dancers, lawn games, and more between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. There will be fireworks at dusk. The events will be held at the field behind Sacred Heart High School and CARDELREC-Goulbourn. Other events in Stittsville on Canada Day include: Canada Day in Riverside South Note: The Riverside South Community Association says the fireworks display has been cancelled on Wednesday due to the storm. Canada Day celebrations will be held at Claudette Cain Park in Riverside South on July 1. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., enjoy inflatables, a miniature train ride, mini golf, live DJ, shows by Little Ray’s and Junkyard Symphony and more. The evening show runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live music and fireworks at dusk (approximately 10 p.m.). Canada Day in Manotick Note: The drone show has been cancelled due to the weather. The Manotick Village and Community Association invite you to celebrate Canada Day in Manotick. The evening event includes live music and activities at Centennial Park at the Manotick Community Centre, ending with a drone and music show at 9:30 p.m. Osgoode Village Canada Day Celebrate Canada Day with fireworks in Osgoode. The show at the Osgoode Community Centre begins at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Other events in Osgoode on Canada Day include the Canada Day parade at 11 a.m. on Osgoode Main Street, and community celebrations at the Osgoode Legion Grounds between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Canada Day in Vars The Vars Community Association invites you to celebrate Canada Day at Alcide Trudeau Park. Events include bouncy castles, kids craft table, a fire truck, Ottawa Police, a magician and live music. There will be fireworks at dusk. Canada Day in the east end Note: The Canada Day fireworks have been postponed due to the weather. A new date will be scheduled. Celebrate Canada Day at the Richcraft Sensplex on Shefford Road in the east end. It’s an evening of music, community spirit and a spectacular Canada Day fireworks display. The fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. Queenswood Heights Community Association The Queenswood Heights Community Association is hosting a Canada Day celebration at Queenswood Centennial Park. Admission is free. The event runs from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa will host a Canada Day celebration. There will be a free concert at Hard Rock Live featuring Shania Twin as Shania Twain, barbeque food and beverages, and fireworks. Museums Visit each museum’s website for details. Canada Day at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum Celebrate Canada Day at the museum. Events at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum include Maple Milkshakes, a craft and games corner and a chance to meet unique Canadian livestock breeds. Admission is free. Canada Aviation and Space Museum The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is hosting a celebration of Canadian achievements on Canada Day. Events include ParLUGment, drone fun with DJI and BIL, Rocket ready, classic Canadian shorts, and the Sauvetage Benevole Outaouais-Ottawa Volunteer Search and Rescue. Admission is free.
