Woman killed after being struck by vehicle near Duck Lake

A 33-year-old woman has died after being hit by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

Around 3:45 a.m. July 19, Rosthern RCMP were called to the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 212, about eight kilometres west of Duck Lake.

The woman, who’s been identified as being from Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation, was declared dead at the scene. Her family has been notified.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision. Both the driver and a passenger were not injured, according to police.

Police continue to investigate, alongside a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Duck Lake is located about 85 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
