The Walmart connected to St. Vital Centre is set to reopen this week after a fire shut it down in early July. In a social media post Tuesday, Walmart said its St. Vital location will reopen its door on July 23, returning to regular hours. The location closed following a fire on July 6. Emergency crews were originally called just before 7 p.m. for reports that a fire broke out inside. Following an investigation, police arrested a 47-year-old man who is facing multiple charges, including arson. Police said a man set bedding products on fire, before heading into the attached restaurant, having a drink and sitting at a table. It’s estimated the fire cost more than $10 million in damage. The charges against the man have not been tested in court.
