Ready to make nice: The Chicks make cheeky social post ahead of Halifax concert

The Chicks are set to headline night one of Halifax Music Fest Friday and are doing their part to ensure residents have a smooth ride to their show.

According to a Thursday post on the country band’s Facebook page – which has 1.5 million followers – they are looking to expand their social reach.

“To help further the Chicks’ efforts to bump up their social media followers to three-digit numbers, we wish to notify the citizens and visitors of Halifax, Nova Scotia that the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic through June 25 to replace the lane control system, presumably in anticipation of the Chicks’ concert this weekend,” reads the cheeky post.

Beginning Sunday, the bridge was closed each night from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

“Please follow for all important updates related to the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge,” reads The Chicks’ post.

Shaboozey, Blue Rodeo and The Barr Brothers are joining The Chicks for night one of Halifax Music Fest. Silversun Pickups, Dashboard Confessional, and Jimmy Eat World open for Weezer on night two of the festival.
