Assault charges laid after 3 people hit by vehicle in Saskatoon

A 19-year-old driver in Saskatoon is facing multiple charges after allegedly striking three people with a vehicle over the weekend.

On Sunday, March 29, shortly after 2 a.m., Saskatoon police responded to an assault in progress on the 900 block of Central Avenue.

Officers were told that a vehicle had hit three individuals in a parking lot following an altercation.

The driver fled the scene before police arrived but was located a short time later. A traffic stop led to the arrest of two people in the vehicle.

Two victims were found at the scene and treated by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries. The third victim left before police arrived and has not yet been located.

The driver faces three counts of assault with a weapon and one count of dangerous driving. The 19-year-old passenger in the vehicle was charged with breaching court-imposed conditions.
