Temperatures remain on the chilly side across southern Ontario on Monday afternoon, hovering in the low single digits. “We are above freezing through London, midwestern Ontario and east toward Barrie and Toronto, but there are still lake-effect flurries affecting parts of southern Ontario into the late afternoon,” said CTV News meteorologist Julie Atchison. Skies are expected to clear this evening, becoming partly cloudy overnight in London as temperatures fall to about –3 C, with wind chill values near –7. The extended forecast calls for improvement, with dry conditions and increasing sunshine following last week’s rainfall. “Expect day-to-day warming,” Atchison said. “Temperatures reach 12 degrees Tuesday, 17 Wednesday, 19 Thursday, with full sunshine into the early part of Friday.” The next chance of measurable rain is expected Friday night into Saturday, though daytime high temperatures are forecast to remain well above seasonal norms heading into the weekend.
