Swift Current man faces bevy of drug and weapons charges

A Swift Current man is facing numerous charges following the execution of a search warrant at a trailer park in the community.

According to an RCMP news release, officers searched the home on Friday, finding 227 grams of meth, 662 grams of dried cannabis, a sum of cash, a stun baton, several imitation firearms and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Two people at the home were arrested. However, one was released without charges.

A 35-year-old has been charged with possessing meth for the purpose of trafficking, property obtained by crime under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

The man appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court and has been remanded into custody until his next appearance on Friday, May 22.
