The Globe Theatre in Regina has unveiled their lineup for next season, which will be their 60th anniversary season. A major renovation of their building on 11th Avenue will be fully complete by September, with exterior work on the historic building being completed during the warmer summer months. A gala event is planned for Sept. 12 to celebrate the end of the six-year project. The main stage will host five productions next season, including the Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol. The second stage will also be open, along with the theatre school. “It will have been six years since we’ve been able to do that, and I think everyone who works for this theatre company, everyone who is involved and supports this theatre company is pretty ready to start a full season,” explained Jennifer Brewin, artistic director for the Globe Theatre. “We’ve got five plays going on next year, but we’re also opening up all the other spaces in the building so that it really is a performance hub,” she added. Free noon-hour concerts with the Regina Symphony Orchestra will continue. The new technology in the renovated theatre will allow the Globe Theatre to “make better magic.”
