Regina man charged with extortion of 15-year-old teen

A Regina man is facing charges following an investigation into internet child exploitation.

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit was contacted by the Ontario Provincial Police in June of 2025 about an investigation where a 15-year-old boy was the victim of sextortion, according to the Saskatoon Police Service.

According to the investigation, a man residing in Regina had posed as a teenage girl and convinced the boy to send a nude photo of himself, SPS said. After the man received the photo, he extorted the boy for money.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit then took over the file. Munachi Chizura Anuka, 25, of Regina was charged on Jan. 13 with accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material and extortion.

He was released on court-imposed conditions and is scheduled to make a court appearance on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. at Regina Provincial Court.
