‘More prosperity for all’: Sask. Premier endorses cooperation at trinational conference

Trade officials from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico are in Regina this week discussing agriculture, mining, and continental security.

Regina is hosting the annual North American Strategy for Competitiveness (NASCO) Continental Reunion.

The three-day convention seeks to bring delegates from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico to discuss priorities in trade.

On Wednesday, Premier Scott Moe said the deep integration of the three countries underpins North America’s food, manufacturing and energy security.

“Throughout Canada, United States and Mexico – one does not come at the expense of the other,” Moe said in his address

“We’re growing the size of the pie, and there’s going to be more prosperity for all of us in doing so.”

The premier added that a strong North American trade relationship benefits all three countries and strengthens the continent’s position globally.

Sask. Party MLA Travis Keisig is acting as Saskatchewan’s NASCO representative this year.

“Our province is a long-time member of NASCO, and we are excited to host dynamic discussions and sessions that speak to our strengths in natural resources, critical minerals, energy, agriculture and beyond,” he said in a news release from the province.

According to the province, 56.6 per cent of Saskatchewan’s total exports went to the U.S. and Mexico in 2025, to the tune of $24.6 billion.

The 2026 NASCO reunion is taking place from May 5 to May 7.
