Ontario Forest Fires reported five new wildland fires in the northeast region as of Monday evening, bringing the total number of active fires in the area to 21. The largest of the new fires is Cochrane 22, which measures 350 hectares and is located north of Cochrane 21, also approximately 10 kilometres west of the Shagamu River in the Far North. Cochrane 24 measures 15 hectares and is located approximately 21 kilometres southwest of the Fort Severn Airport, south of the Severn River. The fire is being observed. Cochrane 25 is 39 hectares and is located approximately 36 kilometres southwest of the Fort Severn Airport. The fire is not under control. Out of the 21 active wildland fires in the region, two are not under control, two are under control and 17 are being observed.
