CTV Hometown Tour: Adventures in the 'potash capital of the world'

CTV Regina co-anchor Danelle Boivin is greeted by an enthusiastic group of students Monday at PJ Gillen School in Esterhazy.

The CTV Hometown Tour made its first stop in Esterhazy, the town nicknamed the “potash capital of the world.”

Our visit to the community of nearly 2,500 people, located near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border, began with lunch at the Esterhazy Golf Club.

Then it was off to PJ Gillen School, where we received a warm welcome from an enthusiastic group of students.

The Saskatchewan Potash Interpretive Centre was among the other places we visted before touring the Mosaic K1 potash mine.

Co-anchors Dan McIntosh and Danelle Boivin broadcasted live Monday from the Esterhazy Historical Park on CTV News at Six.

The five-day tour will also visit Caronport, Broadview, Yellow Grass and Lumsden.
