Ottawa to receive a break from the snow, before mild temperatures arrive for final days of February

Ottawa will see a mix of weather over the final days of February and start of March, with temperatures above 0 C on Friday and Saturday, before below-seasonal temperatures return.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day. High -4 C.

It will be mainly cloudy tonight. Low -6 C.

Friday will see mainly cloudy conditions with a 40 per cent chance of flurries late in the morning and early in the afternoon. High 2 C.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected on Saturday with a chance of flurries or showers. High 3 C.

Cold temperatures will return to Ottawa Saturday night, with a low of -16 C.

Sunday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of snow. High -10 C.

The outlook for Monday calls for sunshine and a high of -10 C.

Tuesday will see cloudy conditions. High -3 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -2 C and a low of -11 C.

Wednesday snowfall

There will still be some snow on streets and sidewalks in Ottawa today after Wednesday’s snowfall.

Environment Canada issued two special weather statements during the day, warning of heavy snow at times.

A total of 7.8 cm of snow was recorded at the Ottawa Airport on Wednesday. Ottawa has received 46.9 cm of snow so far in February.
