The rain finally tapered off in the Edmonton area Tuesday. Parts of northeastern and southern Alberta will get some more rain through the evening, but most of the heaviest rainfall is done. Edmonton and area received more than two-months’-worth of spring rain in just over two days. The average total rainfall for April and May in Edmonton is 72 mm. Over the course of Sunday, Monday and early Tuesday, the city recorded between 75-100 mm. Officially, the Blatchford weather station had 78 mm and the airport reported 81 mm of rain. Parts of east-central and southern Alberta were hit even harder. Lavoy, east of Vegreville, reported 113 mm and Stavely, south of Calgary, had 139 mm (almost 14 cm).
