A 22-year-old man is dead after being stabbed inside a Walmart in Montreal North on Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after 4 p.m., Montreal police (SPVM) were called to the store near the intersection of Henri-Bourassa and Lacordaire boulevards. The victim was stabbed in the upper body with a “sharp object” during an altercation with a group of individuals, according to police spokesperson Manuel Couture. The victim was unconscious but breathing when he was sent to hospital with serious injuries. He later died of his injuries. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, Couture added. No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear. The investigation is ongoing. The man’s death is the 9th homicide on Montreal police territory in 2026.
