Ottawa could see another 2 to 4 cm of snow today, cold temperatures return this weekend

Ottawa is set to receive another blast of snowy weather, following the biggest snowfall of the year.

A total of 10 cm of snow fell Tuesday night and Wednesday. Ottawa has received 35.9 cm of snow so far in January.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud today. High -8 C, with the wind chill making it feel like -11 this afternoon.

Periods of snow tonight. Snow will end after midnight then cloudy. Environment Canada says Ottawa will see 2 to 4 cm of snow tonight. The temperature will rise to -6 C by morning.

Cloudy on Friday. High -1 C.

The cold temperatures return this weekend, with overnight lows of -17 C Friday and -19 C Saturday.

Saturday will be mainly sunny. High -12 C.

Sunday will be cloudy. High -5 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high -6 C and a low of -15 C.

Greatest snowfall of 2025

The 10 cm of snow Ottawa received Tuesday night and Wednesday was the largest snow event of the year.

Ottawa received 7 cm of snow on New Year’s Day, 6.7 cm on Jan. 12 and 13 and 6.8 cm on Jan. 23.

Ottawa has received 35.9 cm of snow so far in January.
