A number of eastern Ontario residents are flocking to U.S border towns to try their luck for Wednesday night's $425 million Powerball jackpot.

Price Chopper in Ogdensburg, New York is a popular stop for many Canadians who pick up groceries and a lottery ticket.

Lines have been long at the lottery desk as the Poweball jackpot continues to grow.

If there's a winner tonight, it would be the third largest Powerball jackpot prize since the game started.

Powerball is played in 43 states including New York.

Under Powerball rules, non-resident citizens can play the lottery subject to taxes.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in about 175 million.

For Canadians lining up in Ogdensburg, the odds don't matter today.
