There’s a bit of everything happening in the Edmonton area this weekend, from a Lego convention to an AI conference. Northern Bricks This Lego event features more than 100 unique displays for hardcore enthusiasts, adult fans and children. Taking place Saturday and Sunday at the Alberta Aviation Museum, the event includes a kids play area and merch vendors. Tickets are available online. Stingers basketball Sunday won’t be as nice as Saturday, so if you want to stay inside, the Stingers are hosting the Niagara River Lions at 4 p.m. at the Edmonton Expo Centre. The Stingers are 1-1 this season. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster. Upper Bound AI conference If you’re looking to increase your AI knowledge or you want to use it professionally, this conference will feature more than 250 speakers and 200 sessions. The problem is that it’s sold out, but there’s a waitlist. It’s taking place Friday to Sunday at the Edmonton Convention Centre. Beaumont Days The town’s “biggest party” is this weekend, and it’s packed with all kinds of fun. There’s a book sale, a midway, beer gardens, a street party, a pancake breakfast, a barbecue, and more. The event goes from Friday to Sunday. Rainmaker Festival Also all weekend is the Rainmaker Festival in St. Albert. Hosted by the Kinsmen Club, the events features, food, rides and lots of music, including a rock night and a country night. Oh, and there’s a rodeo, too. Tickets are available online.
