Two charged in Bruce Avenue stabbing in Sudbury

Two people have been charged following a stabbing and a robbery that took place on Bruce Avenue late last month in Greater Sudbury.

Police responded around 4:15 p.m. on May 30 to reports of a robbery in the area.

“Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old man who had sustained stab wounds and required immediate medical attention,” police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn said in an email June 4.

Serious injuries

“The individual was transported to the hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”

Two suspects were arrested around 7 p.m. at a residence at 720 Bruce Ave.

“This is a targeted incident as the individuals are known to each other,” police said.

Two suspects, ages 30 and 37, have been charged with robbery with a weapon, aggravated assault, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a release order.

Both men were held overnight ahead of weekend bail court May 31.
