An 18-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after police in Sault Ste. Marie say she assaulted two people with weapons at a multi-unit residence building last week. Police said the incident unfolded after 911 operators received a report of an assault with a weapon at a complex in the 100 block of Church Street around 5:20 p.m. on May 28. “An investigation revealed the accused got into an argument with a victim and struck them with an object, verbally threatened them and chased them with a knife,” the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a new release. Police added that the accused also struck a second victim with a different object, causing minor physical injuries. “The accused and victims are known to one another,” said police. The teen was charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with a probation order. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
