Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 24-year-old Brampton man with stunt driving on Highway 11 near Kirkland Lake earlier this month. “On Aug. 4, at approximately 11 p.m., ... (an) OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 when they observed a motorist travelling 157 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone,” police said in a release Wednesday. “Police conducted a traffic stop.” As a result, the motorist was charged with speeding and stunt driving. In addition to a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 13, the man’s driver’s license was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. OPP also used the incident to remind drivers to slow down, obey posted speed limits and drive according to road and weather conditions. “Make safety your priority every time you get behind the wheel,” said police.
