Hwy. 11 driver charged with impaired had child in vehicle, police say

Three people were charged with impaired driving recently by Ontario Provincial Police in Iroquois Falls within 27 hours of each other.

In addition, police received five traffic complaints last weekend, two of which resulted in impaired driving charges.

The first person charged was on Highway 11 in Val Gagne, where police received reports of a person driving erratically. The driver was charged with impaired.

The second also involved intimate partner violence in Ramore. The suspect in that case has been charged with spousal assault, as well as impaired driving.

And the final incident was on Highway 11 in “Black River-Matheson with a child in the vehicle,” police said.

The driver was charged with refusing to comply with a demand and breach of recognizance.

All three drivers had their driver’s licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
