Health Canada has announced a recall of 20,000 Piston Power 5000 Mag Power Banks from LOGiiX. The product is being recalled due to a potential fire hazard and is voluntary, according LOGiiX’s website. “In a very small number of cases, the power bank may overheat, posing a safety risk,” the company said. North Bay Fire Services alerted residents to the recall this week in an email. “Lithium-ion battery fires are a rising concern throughout the country,” the email said. “These fires ignite without any warning and grow rapidly and violently.” The recall targets Piston Power 5000 mag Power Banks sold between January 2022 and July 2025 for these model numbers: LGX-13302 – in the colour black LGX-13303 – in the colour white LGX-13304 – in the colour navy or midnight blue LGX-13839 – in the colour lavender LGX-13840 – in the colour blush Health Canada and the Vancouver-based company are advising anyone with one of these power banks to stop using them immediately. LOGiiX said customers should contact their municipality for proper disposal of lithium-ion batteries. Customers are being directed to LOGiiX website for more information on eligibility for product replacement.
