The Prince Albert RCMP is encouraging residents to report suspicious activity as investigations into several recent thefts continue. Three people face charges after officers recovered several stolen items from a home on 17th Street West on Sept. 17, according to Saskatchewan RCMP on Tuesday. Officers from the RCMP and Saskatchewan Marshals Service went to the home as part of an investigation into a break-and-enter earlier in the day. They also recovered three guns, tools, and an e-bike. The investigation into the thefts continues. RCMP are also investigating several thefts over the weekend and are working to determine if there are any connections between the incidents. Officers will conduct extra patrols in the area. “We want to work with our communities to keep them safe,” S/Sgt. Steve Hurst from Prince Albert RCMP said in Tuesday’s release. “We understand frustrations about crime. It’s important to know that we take all reports of crime seriously and investigate reports thoroughly. We need communities and citizens to work together with us – legally and safely – in order to protect everyone.” RCMP are encouraging residents to lock and secure homes, vehicles, businesses, outbuildings and slip tanks. Residents are also encouraged to keep their property well-lit and install a security system or security lights. Prince Albert RCMP investigated about 700 reports of property crimes from January to August of this year.
