Counterfeit bills circulating North Bay: police

North Bay police are warning northerners of counterfeit money, after an American $100 bill was used last week.

On the evening of March 30, police say a man walked into a restaurant on Lakeshore Drive and paid for his take out with a $100 American bill.

After the man left, the person working the cash registered was concerned with the quality of the bill.

It was taken to North Bay Police on Monday, April 1 and determined to be counterfeit.

The man described as:

Police say the man was carrying the counterfeit money in a red fabric wallet.

Anyone with information that may assist police with this investigation is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555.
