Some Quebec provincial police (SQ) non-emergency lines are currently down because of a technical issue that started Sunday evening. On Monday, Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Kim Cormier confirmed the issue was ongoing. On Sunday, the force said that in some areas, calls made to *4141 and 310-4141 were not being properly routed to the SQ’s call management centre. Cormier said that in case of an emergency, citizens should call 911, or contact their local police station when an immediate response is not necessary. Contact information for SQ service points is available on the force’s website. “Police services remain fully operational. Contingency measures have been implemented, and the relevant partners are continuing their work to restore service as soon as possible,” the SQ said in a news release Sunday. The force added that, based on the information currently available, the situation is separate from the one that occurred on Sept. 17.
