A major IT outage on Monday is affecting several health-care facilities in Laval and the Laurentians. At the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital in Laval, people are being urged not to go to the emergency room unless it’s for something that needs immediate attention. The regional health board, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de Laval, said there is also a telephone outage affecting some of its facilities: The CIUSSS is referring people to a list of alternatives to the ER on its website and two temporary phone numbers during the outage: 514 390-2167 and 1-877-476-6112. In case of an emergency, people should still call 911. The CIUSSS said appointments scheduled for Tuesday between 6:30 a.m. and noon are cancelled at all of its blood collection centres. Staff will contact patients who are affected by the cancellations. “Our teams are working to maintain essential services and minimize the impact on the public,” the regional health board says on its website. The same message is posted on the CIUSSS des Laurentides.
