Julie Snyder learns identity of person who hired private investigator

Quebec television mogul Julie Snyder now knows the identity of the person who hired a private investigator to follow her, confirmed her lawyer.

She said Snyder, who is in the midst of a divorce from former Parti Quebecois leader and Videotron heir Pierre Karl Peladeau, received the information on Sunday after an order was issued by a Quebec Superior Court judge.

She will decide in the coming days whether to make this information public and if she will pursue legal action for invasion of privacy.

On June 26, Snyder said an airline employee told her a man, later determined to be a private investigator, was inquiring about her at Quebec City’s Jean Lesage International Airport.

Snyder took legal action against the man and his employer, Garda, to determine the identity of the person behind the surveillance.
