Champlain Bridge northbound closed this weekend, along with other roads

The northbound Samuel-de Champlain Bridge heading into Montreal is set to be closed this weekend.

In addition to the bridge, several road closures are expected in and around the island for construction.

Planning trips in advance is strongly advised.

Samuel-de Champlain Bridge (A-10 / A-15 / A-20)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the bridge will be closed between Exit 6 (R-132) on Highway 10 West in Brossard and the Île-des-Soeurs Boulevard overpass on Highway 15 North in Montreal, including the northbound Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge.

As a result, the following are default closures starting at 10 p.m.:

• On Highway 15 North, access from Route-132 West and East.
• Marie-Victorin Boulevard East, between the ramp to Highway 10 East and the on-ramp from Highway 10 West.

This closure will result in major traffic congestion around all bridges heading onto the Island of Montreal on Saturday and Sunday.

Victoria Bridge (R-112)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., traffic heading toward Montreal will use the single lane on the west span of the Victoria Bridge (Jacques-Cartier Bridge side).
• From Monday at 5 a.m. through Thursday, Sept. 10, the east span of the Victoria Bridge (Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge side) will be closed.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane on the west span of the bridge (Jacques-Cartier Bridge side) on weekdays, according to the following schedule:

• Toward Montreal, between midnight and noon.
• Toward the South Shore, between noon and midnight.

Bonaventure Highway (A-10)

• From Saturday at 5 a.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m., the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) West will be closed between the on-ramp from Île-des-Sœurs and the on-ramp from Gaétan-Laberge, including the Clément Bridge.
• From Saturday at 5 a.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m., two of three lanes of the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) West will be closed between the on-ramp from Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard and the Victoria Bridge.
• Risk of traffic congestion on Saturday and Sunday during the day.

Décarie Highway (A-15)

• From Friday at 10:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Décarie Highway North (A-15) will be closed between Exit 69 (Jean-Talon Street) and the on-ramp from Paré Street.
• A detour will be in place on Décarie Boulevard North and Côte-de-Liesse Road East.

Jean-Lesage Highway (A-20)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., (in Boucherville) on the Jean-Lesage (A-20) East (Jean-Lesage) will be closed between Exit 95 (de Montarville Boulevard) and the next on-ramp.
• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Exit 109 and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste on-ramp will be closed.

Montarville Boulevard

• From Friday at 10:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., (in Boucherville) on de Montarville Boulevard heading south, the Highway 20 West and East on-ramps will be closed.

Souligny Avenue West

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Souligny Avenue will be completely closed to westbound traffic between Honoré-Beaugrand Street and Highway 25 interchange.

Ville-Marie Tunnel (R-136)

• Until Friday at midnight, at Exit 5 (Highway 10 West, Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, Robert-Bourassa Boulevard) on the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) heading west, inside the Ville-Marie Tunnel, one of two lanes will be open at the ramp toward Mansfield Street.

R-116 / R-134 Interchange (Longueuil)

• Until Monday at 5 a.m., at the R-116 / R-134 interchange, the ramp leading from Route-134 East (Taschereau Boulevard East) to Route-116 East (Sir Wilfrid Laurier Boulevard) is closed.

REM

• On Saturday and Sunday, trains will begin running at 7:30 a.m. between Gare Central, Deux-Montagnes and Anse-à-l’Orme stations.

In the event of adverse weather conditions or operational constraints, the work may be cancelled or modified.
