Two taken to hospital following early morning crash

Two people were taken to hospital following a two vehicle collision at Southdale Rd. and Wonderland Rd. early Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection just after 5:30 a.m. after a utility pickup truck and a crossover collided causing extensive damage.

The utility truck flipped on its side causing the driver to become trapped. A light post at the intersection was knocked over a result.

The crossover vehicle jumped the curb nearly crashing into the store front of a Wendy’s restaurant on the southeast corner.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Southdale Rd. was expected to be closed for most of the morning rush while crews worked to clean up the scene.

Police are investigating the collision.
