Three killed, including two teens, in Oxford County crash involving transport truck

Three people are dead and two people are in life-threatening condition following a serious collision in Norwich Township involving a transport truck and a sport utility vehicle.

Oxford Ontario Provincial Police say officers were called to the crash around 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 31. Firefighters and paramedics also responded to the intersection of Highway 59 and Quaker Street.

The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old from Cambridge and two occupants, a 13-year-old and 17-year-old from Tillsonburg, were pronounced deceased on scene. Two other occupants were transported to hospital, by Ornge and ambulance, to be treated for serious life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the transport truck was uninjured.

Oxford OPP, along with the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team, continue to investigate what led up to the collision.

Roads surrounding the intersection of Highway 59 and Quaker Street were closed for several hours but have since reopened.

Investigators are asking area residents, businesses and motorists to check security cameras or dashcams for any footage that may have captured the collision or the vehicles involved.
