Serious injuries in Oxford County crash; OPP say outcome could have been fatal

OPP say they’re ‘amazed’ a crash in Oxford County Thursday morning between a pickup and transport truck wasn’t fatal.

OPP say they’re “amazed” a crash in Oxford County Thursday morning wasn’t fatal.

“When we arrived on scene, officers thought we were going to be dealing with a fatal collision,” said Sgt. Ed Sanchuk.

Crews responded to the crash between a transport truck and a pickup truck around 8 a.m. at Culloden Line and Salford Road, south of Ingersoll.

According to police, the pickup truck pulled directly in front of a transport truck carrying a load of metal, causing the transport to rollover, sending the other vehicle into the ditch.

“When you come up the intersection, please folks, do me a favour, you want to stop, look twice, it’s going to save a life,” said Sanchuk.

The driver of the transport truck has minor injuries and the driver of the pickup truck has serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Culloden Line has reopened following the collision.
