Temperatures to swing into double digits heading into Easter long weekend

Temperatures will be cool Wednesday but will warm up heading into the Easter long weekend with the potential for rainfall. CTV's Julie Atchison explains.

While the next several days will see plenty of cloudy skies and rainfall, temperatures will be on an upward swing going into the Easter long weekend.

According to CTV News London’s Julie Atchison, temperatures will be on the cool side across the southern Ontario, holding in the low single digits with overcast skies on Wednesday afternoon.

Temperatures will hold steady going into the overnight hours, with a 30 per cent chance of rain and a low of 3 C.

Atchison says a warm front will arrive and that will bring a 70 per cent chance of showers to the area on Thursday and a high of 9 C.

Temperatures take an upward swing into the overnight hours on Thursday, rising to 14 C and a 60 per cent chance of showers.

“It looks like the rainfall will be with us as we head into Friday morning with mainly cloudy conditions Friday afternoon over the next seven days,” she said.

While overcast skies and rainfall will be the name of the game over the next several days in London, Atchison says the daytime high will soar towards the end of the week, with a high of 24 C on Friday and 18 C on Saturday.

Easter Sunday will see a significant cool down, with a high of 5 C and a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of showers.

“A surge of warmth coming in on Friday as an area of low pressure arrives, putting us right into that warm sector and showers expected over the next few days,” she said.
