The installation of a new northside LRT track crossing will see disruption of service on the northeast leg of the Capital Line, including closure of it for two days. The City of Edmonton said in a media release on Tuesday that the line will be closed Saturday and Sunday between Churchill and Clareview stations while crews install the track at the crossing north of 115 Avenue. Buses will serve as replacements for the LRT between the two stations both days. They will run every eight minutes from the beginning of service until 7 p.m., then every 10 minutes until the end of service. The work will also disrupt LRT service on Friday and Monday, when trains will be running on a single track. The disruption on these days begin at 8 p.m. on Friday until the end of service and all day Monday. Riders might experience delays on those days. Regular LRT service is expected to resume on Tuesday. Service on the Metro Line will not be affected, with Metro Line train service extended to Century Park station instead of stopping and turning around at Health Sciences/Jubilee Station. Meanwhile, separate work on the southeast Valley Line will see a dedicated shuttle train operating between the Strathearn and 102 Street stops every 30 minutes starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday until the end of the day Sunday for the installation of underground cellular service. Riders can expect regular LRT service between Mill Woods and Strathearn.
