School board officials in southern Huron County say there could soon be more local childcare options. According to a notice sent home to parents, the board said a company has expressed interest in opening before-and-after-school childcare spaces at Exeter Elementary -- and Bluewater Coast Elementary in Hensall. A previous childcare operator closed its programs back in September, citing a lack of early childhood educators. The closure prompted a parent-led petition, demanding the school board start its own childcare service. Board officials said they hope these new spaces will be available before the end of the school year.
