A Swift Current man is facing charges following investigation into the sexual assault of two teenage girls, with RCMP now seeing if there are other victims. Swift Current RCMP received two reports of sexual assaults of teenage girls in September of 2026, with both occurring in Swift Current. 23-year-old Aniken Edwards was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of invitation to sexual touching. Edwards has been remanded into custody until Oct. 5, when he will appear in Swift Current Provincial Court. Investigators are now looking into whether there may be more victims, with RCMP urging anyone with information to report it. RCMP say they believe the man befriends people who are younger than him, hangs out at places frequented by teenagers, and uses Snapchat to communicate with teens. Sexual assault, according to RCMP, is any intentional, unwanted touching of a sexual nature. When an adult sexually touches a person under the age of 16 or invites a person under the age of 16 to touch them, it is a criminal offence. Saskatchewan RCMP say they take every report of sexual assault seriously, with investigators specially trained in “trauma-informed’ and ‘survivor centered approaches.’ “If you think you or someone you know may be a victim, please report it,” RCMP said. Anyone affected or with information is asked to contact 310-RCMP or anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
