Fanshawe Park Road West reopens following fatal head-on collision

One person is deceased and a second person is in hospital with serious injuries following a head-on collision in the city’s north end on Tuesday morning.

According to a news release from the London Police Service (LPS), shortly before 8:25 a.m. Tuesday emergency crews responded to the area of Fanshawe Park Road West and Pinnacle Parkway for a head-on collision.

According to London fire, extrication was required following the collision.

One of the drivers, an adult male, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle, also an adult male, was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, but has since succumbed to those injuries.

Fanshawe Park Road West was closed between Wonderland Road North and Pinnacle Parkway for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene and police investigated.

The roadway was reopened in both directions shortly before 3 p.m.

There is no word on how the crash happened or potential charges.

Investigators with the LPS Road Safety Section are asking anyone who was in area between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and has dash cam or security footage to contact police at [phone].
