Starbucks Canada adds 'flat white' beverage to its menu

Canadian coffee-lovers can now try a new coffee beverage from Starbucks that originated from Down Under.

The company announced Tuesday that it is adding the "flat white" to its menus in Starbucks stores across the country.

The drink, which originated in Australia during the 1980s, is made up of two espresso shots with a layer of steamed whole milk on the top, the company said in a statement.

Besides Australia, the drink is also popular in the U.K., where Starbucks introduced it in 2010.

Canadian chain Second Cup began offering flat whites on its menu last September.
